Taking an idea and turning it into a special piece is truly fun. I would love to build a custom piece for you and share the fun. Part of that is the design process. Collaborating and watching the elements come together until we reach that "I like it!" moment.   

The process:

The process starts with an email from you. Supply whatever details you have about your project, questions and contact information. Even if it is a picture of a sketch drawn on a coffee stained napkin, it’s a start. Hey, many of mine are on the back of yesterday’s desktop calendar page. 

If you want one of the products in my store but don’t like what’s in stock then simply reference the item and custom details like type of wood or color of wood, custom dimensions, questions or whatever. For these type items and other pieces that only require minor changes, I’ll provide you a quote with estimated delivery. I will keep you involved in the process so there is less chance of one of of those "oops!" moments. Payment is required up front just as if you were buying an in stock item. Since it’s a custom order I’ll provide you with details on how to make payment.  Interested? Contact me.

For big custom builds I will setup an initial free consult, usually by phone.  If you are in the greater Birmingham area, we can even schedule a meeting.  Projects that require extensive design may require a non-refundable design fee. If during the design, I determine that the project is beyond my capability to produce, I will refund the fee. Otherwise your fee will be applied to your purchase. Once the design is approved, Payment will be due.  For builds over $1,000 a 50% deposit will be required (minus design fee if charged). The remaining balance is due prior to shipping.  

And then there's the shipping, Nothing against them, and I have bought big box "assembly required"  products, but I don't make them. So shipping will depend on the item how it will need to be shipped. This too will be provided in your quote.
